The project includes the process for Association of Zoos & Aquariums 2019 Annual Conference poster. The client wanted to evoke positive feeling, while depicting endangered species in their natural environment in a inspirational/playful light.
Initial sketches for AZA Conference poster were done in color to save time going though all of the process steps. The client picked the first sketch, but leaned towards a stronger color scheme seen in the forth sketch, together with a bigger focus on the Asian elephant and a more dynamic pose of the animal.

The client picked the first sketch, but leaned towards a stronger color scheme seen in the forth sketch, together with a bigger focus on the Asian elephant and a more dynamic pose of the animal.
The more extreme pose, with the chosen color contract led too two samples below, the first one being painterly with the elephant taking the focus, while the second more contains additional detail, giving importance to the environment as well. The client chose the first version, with a couple of tweaks to the elephant.
